/ NOISE MEASUREMENT OF CONCORDE 02 APPROACH AND TAKEOFF AT DALLAS-FT. WORTH AND DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS By Carole S. Tanner August Prepared for the U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY Office of Noise Abatement and Control Washington, D.C. under Contract This report has been approved for . DOT Office of Noise Abatement have shown that the vibration levels produced by subsonic Concorde overflights are significantly higher th~n those from the Boeing . This is due to the fact that the' noise spectrum of the Concorde contains much more energy at low frequencies, as shown in Figure I-' StruCtural members;. SUFile Size: 2MB. Concorde and Subsonic Aircraft Noise Levels The noise levels due to Concorde and B/DC-8 subsonic aircraft operations for the five monitored sites are shown in Figure 2. In this case, the Concorde levels are identified as Concorde (All), which is the average of the Concorde (BA) and the Concorde (AF) levels. Thus, when it is said that the Concorde in 10 decibels louder than a on takeoff, it is hte same. thing as saying it is about twice as loud. The ratio is calculated between the noise to be measured and a noise of zero decibels, which is not the absence of sound but the softest sound that a .
id say concorde was around decibels and the tridents were measured at decibels. Thanks. Really did not think the Trident would be so close to Concorde's noise levels. Mind you, I never got to see a Trident fly. We had one at Bristol Airport up until four-odd years ago. Although the level of noise produced by Concorde at takeoff and landing is equivalent to that of the first generation long haul aircraft in service (B , DC8), only the second generation of long haul aircraft (B, DC10, L) equipped with high-bypass jet engines satisfied the new international noise rules. In the US, the Concorde noise was measured at DFW and Dulles airports: Based on the data given in Tables 11 it appears that the approach noise of the Concorde is somewhat higher than that for present day commercial aircraft. The takeoff noise is, for locations close the airport, considerably higher than present aircraft. The Concorde Room, British Airways’ most exclusive lounge at London Heathrow, serves primarily British Airways First class passengers, in addition to the airline’s top customers who are issued a Concorde Room card. In contrast, the adjacent Galleries First lounge welcomes all oneworld First Class customers and top elites, and therefore caters to a much larger [ ]/5(6). Papers from the Working Group on Noise from Air Traffic show Concorde often exceeded PHdB (perceived noise decibels) above the airport in The group criticised the minister for transport's exemption of the supersonic jet from usual noise restrictions.
